Hospital and school supplies are on their way to Sierra Leone!

The day has come! We shipped a 21foot container full of hospital and school supplies to Masanga Hospital and Port Loko Government Hospital and the adjacent schools in Sierra Leone, West Africa. This event marks the first time that our charity has branched out internationally.

Over 50 boxes containing medical supplies were loaded onto a container today. Vital hospital equipment was donated by various London hospitals and computers were donated by Deptford Green International School prior to the move to the new site in Edward street.

The Big Yellow Self Storage Company in Lewisham Way donated free storage space to the charity where the hospital supplies were kept until HTWFC had collected enough for the shipment.

Menifa Williams, PR Officer and Trustee for Heal The World For Children and Science Teacher at Deptford Green International School says: “Heal The World For Children and Deptford Green International School are very excited by this shipment. We anticipate the huge smiles it will bring to the faces of the children at Masanga and Port Loko Hospitals this Christmas. Much hard work went into raising the funds for this container and we are grateful to everyone who contributed.  Deptford Green School actively promote charity work and it is touching to see the students at the school actively campaigning and fund-raising for their chosen causes.  Sierra Leone has one of the highest child mortality rates in the world due to preventable diseases so Heal The World For Children will be making an important contribution towards healing this community”.

We hope you are just as excited about this project as us and will keep you updated about the trip of our containers to Sierra Leone and the responses out there. Thankyou everyone for helping us cross the borders of the world!
